For a small city Hua Hin has a surprisingly large number of places where you can buy English language books. We’ve managed to find two places where you can buy new books and two places where you can buy secondhand books. At both the secondhand bookshops you can also exchange books for a credit. You’ll usually get a 50% credit, so if you buy it for 100 baht you’ll get a 50 baht credit if you exchange it for another book. None of the bookshops buy secondhand books.
Asia Books at Bluport Shopping Mall
This is Hua Hin’s best bookshop for new English language books. It’s located in the recently opened Bluport shopping mall. Asia Books is Thailand’s largest and best known bookstore and has branches around the country, but mainly in Bangkok. It also sells books in various other languages, including Thai. The Bluport branch is located on the third floor and is open until 10 pm. If they don’t have what you want it stock you can order it and they will usually get it within a few days.

Asia Books at Market Village Shopping Mall
This is another branch of the popular Asia Books. It’s located on the second floor of Village Market towards he back just passed the restaurant area. Market Village is Hua Hin’s most popular shopping mall. There is a large food court in the basement that’s also worth a visit. This branch is a little smaller than the newer one at Bluport, mentioned above.

The Blue And Yellow Book Exchange
This is the best of the two secondhand bookstores in Hua Hin for English language books. It’s located in the city center on Phetkasem Road between Soi 76 and 78.As well as English language books it also has Swedish, German, Dutch, French, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish books. You can exchange books here for 50% credit of the purchase price.

Railway Station Secondhand Bookshop
This bookshop just takes up a section in the corner of a small Thai and European café opposite the train station. I’ve never been inside, but when driving passed I’ve seen books in various European languages. It might be worth taking a look if you’re in the area.
