The most peaceful vacation destinations on Earth

views

Sometimes, when we want to get away, we really want to getaway. Typical quiet beach holidays can be incredibly relaxing, but they can also be afflicted by that most heinous of holiday woes – other people. For some of us, the idea of getting away from it all actually means getting away from them all, and thankfully, the perfect relaxing holiday does exist. You might need to leave the country though, at least if the stunning destinations below are anything to go by.

Castara, Tobago – It might not technically be the quietest holiday destination on the list, due to the wildlife and busy fishing culture, but Castara is one of the Caribbean’s true hidden gems – A true island paradise bristling with character and boasting some truly gorgeous hillside cabins.

Halong Bay, Vietnam – Whilst it might have become popular with young travellers win recent years, Halong Bay remains a sight to behold. The UNESCO Heritage Site is made up of several limestone islands, each towering into the clouds with some containing dense rainforest. Spend a few days sailing between them on your own personal boat and you’ll truly understand the meaning of the word “peace.”

Nordfjord, Norway – The Norwegian fjords are world-famous for a reason – the views are spectacular and the atmosphere is completely unique. Take a cruise along the fjord in summer and you’ll spot everything from glaciers and snow-capped mountains to wide rolling hillsides and crystal clear waters.

Saruni Samburu Safari Camp, Kenya – Whilst an African Safari might sound like a lot of work, this luxury camp also offers a range of more sedate animal-watching activities, as well as a bespoke ‘Wellbeing Space’ featuring a pool and spa area.

The Seychelles – Of the 115 islands that make up the Seychelles, only 30 of them are actually inhabited. This means that if you want to find your own personal slice of paradise then it might be tough to beat.

Rio Celeste Falls, Costa Rica – A bright blue waterfall caused by natural volcanic chemicals, this purely magical location has been drawing adventurous tourists to Costa Rica for years now. The waterfall is located at the heart of the Tenorio Volcano National Park and requires a bit of a trek, but we guarantee you it will be worth it when you catch sight of that bright blue water.

If you’re aiming for the most peaceful holiday imaginable, you’re probably going to want to get off on the right foot and let’s be honest, most of us love our holidays but we hate the airport. That’s why we would always recommend booking private flights where possible. This allows you to schedule your flight around your holiday, not vice-versa. It also cuts down immeasurably on the pre and post-holiday stress and, if you’re looking to vacation in a particularly exotic destination, it even means you’ll be able to access locations that major airlines would never dream of flying.
