Running from stress to a tropical beach

views

Daily life can be stressful, and it is vitally important that you practice self-care and take care of your mental health. When it comes to dealing with stress, nothing beats escaping to a tropical beach for a relaxing getaway with no responsibilities.

So if you are feeling overwhelmed and thinking about leaving Florida on a last minute cruise, here are 4 amazing beaches within easy reach where you can rest, relax, and chill out to your heart’s content.

Middle Caicos, Turks and Caicos

Despite being easily accessible from the East Coast, the Turks and Caicos Islands remain relatively undiscovered, and there are loads of gorgeous beaches where, chances are, you’ll be the only people there. Middle Caicos is the largest island in the chain, but is incredibly sparsely populated, giving it a remote, desolate, and totally tranquil feel.

Cat Island, The Bahamas

Cat Island is a hidden gem in the Bahamas, almost totally unknown to mainstream tourists, and with an air of peace and calm that is hard to beat. It is a delightfully private spot, and with almost nothing to do beyond enjoying the quiet and natural beauty, it’s a great place to destress.

Cayo Costa State Park, Pine Island, Florida

The charm of Cayo Costa lies in its almost total seclusion – it’s an adventure just getting there! With over nine miles of gorgeous, pristine beach that is only accessible by boat, this wonderful State Park is one of the finest places to get away from it all anywhere. The boat trip takes about an hour, so it’s perfectly possible to make a day of it, and you can camp overnight as well. There’s not much here – no snack bars or artificial entertainment – just you, the beach, and the sea.

Tigertail Beach, Marco Island

Another spot that requires an adventurous spirit to get to is Tigertail Beach on Marco Island. A tiny little sand spit (it was an island until Hurricane Wilma piled up enough sand to connect it to the mainland), there’s nothing here but sand, sea, and sky, which makes it a wonderfully peaceful experience. The journey across the lagoon can be hair-raising – you have to wade through waist-high water across a squishy, grassy sea bed, but the views and the complete tranquility make it well worth the journey!

These four beaches might require a little more effort to get to than your local stretch of sand, but when it comes to peace, quiet, calm, and relaxation, they can’t be beaten!
