San Diego is a beautiful city and that is for sure. Every time that I have visited my relatives there for my vacations, I have had an amazing time. There are so many different sights that it can be hard to narrow down what we want to do together as a family.
Inevitably, though, the ocean ends up calling to us. I live out near the Atlantic normally, so when I get the chance to enjoy the Pacific, it is something I am not going to hesitate to experience again and again. Even the people who live here all the time agree that it is easily one of the best aspects of the city.
Obviously, though, I am not going to try to fly a boat across the country. Heck, I do not even own one of my own. That is why I started thinking about rentals for my family and me to enjoy while spending time together on the San Diego shores.
Boat Rentals
I will admit, it took a little bit of convincing the first time my kids wanted to go sailing. As I said, I am used to the rough, choppy, and murky waters of the Atlantic Ocean. I just have not had much fun in boat rentals out there. It is why I have never bothered to even look into buying one of my own.
However, once I started looking into charters in the San Diego area and checked out the sea myself, I realized that this would be totally different. Of course, the whole family was enthralled and delighted when we saw a beautiful yacht, like the Champagne Yacht, for the first time. Since there are so many options, the flexibility was a perk for us for sure.
If you did not know, boats require a heck of a lot of maintenance if you actually own one. Cruises
One thing that I did not realize for the longest time is that a lot of boat rental companies also schedule cruises and events. Once I found that out, you can bet that I was adding that to the itinerary for my next trip out to San Diego. Events like that really are just a blast for everyone involved.
While I was specifically looking for ones that are child friendly, there are plenty that are for adults only, too. They can make for an awesome romantic getaway, especially if there is fine wine and slow dancing involved. A lot of charters will offer specific date nights for couples that are interested.
If you are not really sold on cruises, I get it. Those of us who get seasick might not be overly enthused by them. Some charters will even let you rent out a whole yacht for a night for something like a corporate event, graduation party, wedding, or more. You can customize offerings like food selections and decorations, too, which is a pretty big deal in my eyes at least.
Whether you live in San Diego full time or are just visiting, taking a cruise, and seeing the beauty of the Pacific Ocean is not an experience to let pass you by. Nowadays, you do not have to own a boat of your own to do that – and, as mentioned above, doing that is kind of more trouble than it is really worth most of the time.
Instead, you can take advantage of the wealth of resources at your fingertips in the area and find the perfect rental or charter for your needs. It has certainly made event and vacation planning much easier, that is for sure!
