You are going on vacation to the country of the maple leaf and are asking yourself the question “Canada tours – where to go? What to see?”? We suggest – you should visit Canada’s largest city, Toronto. When visiting this place, do not miss the famous CN Tower, which towers over the city. You may think to yourself that what’s so unusual about it, is just another observation tower in a big city. Nothing could be further from the truth! Toronto’s CN Tower is an amazing tourist attraction that has been named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Read the article and find out why.

CN Tower – Rotating retaurant

If you’re celebrating a special day while in Toronto, such as a birthday, anniversary or planning an original proposal, we highly recommend a visit to the 360 Restaurant. This unusual restaurant is located at a height of 350 meters on the CN Tower. It will be perfect for a delicious lunch or a romantic dinner at sunset. Sitting at a table by the panoramic windows, you’ll enjoy an extraordinary view of Toronto, and you’ll be spinning! “360 Restaurant” is a rotating restaurant at the top of the tower that provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. Every 72 minutes, the restaurant level makes a full rotation, allowing you to see the beauty of the city from all sides.

You will find a lot of useful information here see this site.

In addition, the restaurant offers delicious Canadian cuisine prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant’s menu changes twice a year: for summer and for winter. The summer menu begins in May, and the winter menu in November. Dining at “360 Restaurant” is a very popular attraction, so advance reservations for seats are required. It is not advisable to put it off until the last minute, the so-called ‘last minute’, as seats may already be sold out. Reservations can be made by phone or online through the CN Tower website. You can go to the restaurant for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and for dinner from 4:30 pm to 10 pm.

CN Tower – the world’s tallest wine cellar

You can match your extraordinary meal with equally delicious Canadian or international wines repeatedly decorated with many awards. It is also worth mentioning that “360 Restaurant” has the world’s highest wine cellar. Located at an altitude of 351 meters, the cellar has been included in the Guinness Book of World Records. In this cellar, humidity and temperature are precisely controlled so that conditions are identical to those in a typical wine cellar. In addition, the wine racks are made of sequoia, and the entrance is through double doors made of cherry wood.

This wine cellar can hold 9,000 bottles of wine, and thanks to a special wine preservation system, the restaurant offers many exclusive wines for sale by the glass as well.

“360 Restaurant” received The Wine Spectator magazine’s ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ award (two cups) for its wine list. This award confirms the restaurant’s commitment to offering a diverse, thoughtful selection of wines that can appeal to most guests. The restaurant was also honored with a DiRoNA Award of Excellence

(Distinguished Restaurants of North America). This award is given to restaurants in North America in recognition of their commitment to excellence in all areas, including food, beverage, decor and experience.

CN Tower – observation deck

Three observation decks are available on the CN Tower. The Glass Floor viewing platform at a height of 342 meters with a glass floor and an outdoor observation deck, the LookOut platform at 346 meters, and the highest SkyPod observation platform located at 447 meters! In addition, the first attraction of its kind in North America – the extreme Edge Walk on the outside of the tower, at a height of 356 meters!

The views from each of the terraces are beautiful. While in Toronto, you should definitely go to the CN Tower and enjoy the beautiful panorama of the city. All 3 terraces are open daily from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm.

CN Tower – glass floor observation deck

The lowest (but definitely not the worst!) Glass Floor platform will provide many beautiful views, plus walking on the glass floor and looking down will provide a touch of adrenaline. It was opened on June 26, 1994 and was then the first in the world. You can also easily sit on the glass floor or even jump on it.

But don’t stress, because the floor is made of solid glass, which exceeds the strength standards for normal floors by five times. The CN Tower states on its website that the glass floor can withstand a load of 35 moose – a Canadian approach, isn’t it? In addition, the outdoor observation deck will give you an unobstructed view of the city skyline, and the fresh air at a height of 342 meters will not fail to refresh you.

CN Tower – look observation deck

The second platform, LookOut, features panoramic glass walls through which you’ll be able to see breathtaking views from a height of 346 meters. You’ll also find a glass floor on this level, which has been newly built one level above the original one from 1994. The glass walls allow anyone – even people with disabilities – to enjoy the extraordinary views. It is worth mentioning that the glass walls are equipped with thermochromic film, which allows the darkness of the glass to be adjusted according to the sunlight and the outside temperature. It makes it easier to admire the city’s skyline and take photos, allowing visitors to fully capture the emotions of this extraordinary experience.

CN Tower – sky pod observation deck

The third and highest observation platform called Sky Pod sits at an insane height of 447 meters and is one of the highest observation platforms in the world. You will be taken to this level by a separate elevator from the Look Out level, which will climb an additional 33 floors to get you to the very top. Here you’ll also learn what happens if lightning strikes the tower, and you can watch the pendulum to see how the tower moves in the wind. In good weather, the visibility reaches 160 kilometers, and from the top you can even see Niagara Falls and the United States on the other side of Lake Ontario. Note, however, that the highest platform may not be accessible to everyone, as you have to climb 12 steps at the end of the path to reach it.

CN Tower – extreme attractions

In addition to beautiful views and pampering our taste buds, the CN Tower can also provide many unusual and extreme experiences. For a good start, the way to the very top of the tower will provide a lot of excitement. This is thanks to an elevator with a glass transparent floor, which takes you to the height of 346 meters in just 58 seconds! That’s a speed of 22 kilometers per hour! After less than a minute of excitement we are at the top, and this is only the beginning, because there for the daredevils await a truly extreme experience.

At an altitude of 346 meters above the ground, you can take a walking tour called EdgeWalk Tour. However, this is no ordinary walk, as it takes place on a platform only 1.5 meters wide mounted around the tower, where there are no barriers. Participants in this extreme experience are secured by a special harness that protects them from falling from very high. However, regardless of the safeguards and assurances of the staff, even the most adventurous people such a walk will provide quite a dose of adrenaline. For that, the views are amazing!

Note, however, that the extreme EdgeWalk is quite popular, and tickets should be booked in advance. The attraction is available at two prices: CAD 195 and CAD 225 plus tax. The price depends on the date and can be checked when booking tickets online at the CN Tower website. It’s worth remembering that this extreme attraction is only available to people over 13 years old. In addition to the walk itself, the ticket price includes a video recording and printed photos of the experience, as well as a certificate of participation. In addition, you will receive a ticket to the CN Tower entitling you to enter all three observation decks – to be used for 2 days from the date of the walk. Please note that this extreme attraction operates seasonally, from April to December, and in case of inclement weather such as high winds or thunderstorms, the attraction may be rescheduled.

CN Tower – tickets

Measuring 553 meters, the CN Tower offers several options for visiting it. You can purchase a ticket for all available attractions in a package or for several individual ones separately – it’s up to you. Of course, buying as a package is much more cost-effective.

If you are visiting Toronto with children or are a fan of observing aquatic animals yourself, it is sensational to purchase a combination ticket called “Sea The Sky Combo Ticket”. Such a ticket includes General Admission to the CN Tower and admission to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. On the other hand, if you are in beautiful Toronto for a while longer, you should consider buying a “Toronto CityPASS”. This is a single ticket that entitles you to enter 5 of Toronto’s top attractions. These include:

CN Tower, Casa Loma, Royal Ontario Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada and your choice of Toronto Zoo or Ontario Science Centre. Such a purchase saves up to 37% off the full price, also worth considering. In addition, those with a “Toronto CityPASS” can bypass many queues and get around on the so-called “fast track,” which saves a lot of time that you can spend exploring the amazing city of Toronto.

Most tickets have different prices depending on the age of visitors. A distinction is made between tickets for the youngest aged 4 to 12 years old, tickets for adults over 13, and tickets for seniors older than 65. Tickets can be purchased directly at the CN Tower box office or online. For example, a General Admission ticket, which entitles you to enter two viewing platforms, costs CAD 39 (Canadian dollars) for an adult and CAD 29 for a child. Also note that the extreme EdgeWalk is quite popular, and tickets should be booked in advance.

CN Tower – attractions

The CN Tower offers many attractions for visitors. These include, of course, 3 amazing viewing platforms, a glass floor, ultra-fast glass elevators and the famous 360 rotating restaurant. However, that’s not all you’ll find at the CN Tower. In addition to the exclusive rotating “360 Restaurant,” there are also three bistros serving Canadian snacks and drinks, which are located on the tower by panoramic windows that allow you to enjoy the views at the same time. In addition, at the base of the tower is Le Café, offering, among other things, pizza, salads, sandwiches,

as well as freshly brewed coffee, excellent teas and a tempting variety of baked goods.

Visitors to the CN Tower can also head to the souvenir store. Covering more than 740 square meters, the high-end gift store is one of Toronto’s most unique stores and is a landmark in the city. The gift store features merchandise such as authentic Canadian wares, local artisan products, as well as unique souvenirs from travels and visits to the CN Tower.

The CN Tower looks just as beautiful from above as it does from below, especially at night, when it is illuminated by a magical play of lights. It is a building that can be seen almost all over Toronto, so many locals take the tower as a landmark. So don’t be surprised if, when asked for directions, a Toronto resident tells you to head for the CN Tower.

Canada is an amazing country, one of a kind. There is an extraordinary amount to discover in it, which we heartily encourage you to do.
