Keep it Casual

If you’re meeting people int eh silicon valley, you might find your usual business atire to be a bit out of place. People there are all about comfort, and dressing like a local can mean wearing whatever you’re comfortable with.

If that’s a suit and tie, fine, but you’ll also find a lot of people rocking hoodies. On the other hand, you do need to pack a sweater or a jacket. That’s because San Francisco is a cold city even in the summer, and is so constantly enveloped by fog that they made it their mascot! Yes, the city’s mascot is Karl the fog.

Be Tech Savvy

It would be a huge waste to come all the way to San Francisco and not take advantage of all the tech the city has to offer. From tours of the Silicon Valley where you can try the latest in tech and gadgets to outlets for big names like Apple and MIscrosoft, there’s a lot that San Francisco has to offer.

What’s even better is that you will be able to buy all of the latest tech, some that wouldn’t even be available all over the country yet.

Bring a Camera Along

San francisco is a city surrounded by hills, and is even made on top of a few. With all the inclines on the streets and all the hills surrounding it, there are a lot of moments that you would want to capture when you’re not in a corporate meeting.

This is why you need to at least carry a good phone camera around. On the other hand, you could just enjoy the views and live in the moment. Just make sure you have enough time on your trip to do this – you stand to miss a lot if you don’t have any free time in your schedule.

Pack Comfortable Shoes

If you plan on walking around the city to take in the sights, make sure to plan some comfortable shoes. This is because the hilly terrain in the city doesn’t allow for a lot of pleasant walking, and even just using office shoes can be uncomfortable – much less heels or any kind of formal shoes.

You can, however, take advantage of the city’s public transport, the most famous of which are the cable cars. The transport connects all parts of the city and the major tourist attractions to the corporate housing, so you wouldn’t have a lot of trouble if you know your way around with that.
