If we decide to go to Bulgaria again, then we will most likely come back to Pomorie, especially the old part of town. Of all the cities in Bulgaria that we have visited, Pomorie is the cheapest so far. Despite being one of the biggest coastal towns in Bulgaria, Pomorie is a quiet resort. No noisy, thumping discos sounds and no rambunctious fun that lasts till the wee hours of the evening. People come to Pomorie to relax, to have some peace and quiet, and to detoxify literally as well as figuratively.

Pomorie is known for its curative mud as well as a number of spa treatments. People come there to heal themselves with the famous medicinal mud from the bottom of Lake Pomorie.

The old and the new parts of the city are connected by a narrow isthmus. In the new part of Pomorie there is the monastery of St. George, the Salt Museum and the Thracian Tomb.

Like many coastal towns in Bulgaria, Pomorie is an ancient city. The old part of Pomorie is more interesting for tourists. The “Old Town” has charming ancient buildings, quiet and beautiful streets and souvenir shops. For those who long for the greens and fresh air, Pomorie is surrounded by greenery by its vast number of parks where you can find many different shrubs, trees, flowers and other types of flora. These trees and plants do not only beautiful the place, but they also provide a relief from the scorching Balkan sun. You can also see a small flock of seagulls.

Burgas is a big and beautiful port city ashore the Black Sea in Bulgaria. There is something to see and where to go to rest. The city is famous for its surprisingly large seaside park, sand sculptures, that “grow up” every year in the park Lake, the Cathedral of St. Cyril and St. Methodius. Prices for food in Burgas are affordable, but the advertised shopping is actually proved to be quite expensive pleasure.

The city has several museums, an opera house and many different fountains. McDonald’s, that is loved by all tourists, is also present right on the main street.

A feature of Burgas can be considered “the navel of the city.” An unusual monument, from which are reckoned all streets and houses of the city.

Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of Burgas.

The photos of the village of Aheloy, Bulgaria

The small village of Aheloy is quickly gaining its position among tourists. It was once the site of one of the bloodiest battles in history, wherein Emperor Simeon I delivered a violent and disastrous defeat to the Byzantine army during the 10th century.

There are no clubs, discos, bars or any other forms of entertainment or similar attractions. However, nature lovers as well as health and wellness enthusiasts will definitely have a field day in Aheloy. There are breathtaking natural wonders, balneological resorts and the river Aheloy where you can fish.

There are many hotels and other residential complexes in Aheloy, most of them situating along the coast. Tourists often buy property there which they would eventually live or make them as summer houses.

By itself, the town of Balchik is not particularly interesting for tourists (though they write that this is a romantic place, but we thought it is not so), but its main feature – Botanical Garden – attracts tourists from all over the world. The collection of cacti, that is planted in the park, is the second in the the world by a quantity of presented specimens.

The Botanical Garden by one of its sides overlooks a promenade, where there is a small but cozy residence of Romanian Queen Maria. You can visit her modest quarters for a reasonable fee of 5 levs. Right from the balcony of Queen there is a beautiful view of the fabulous beaches of Balchik.

The photos of the village of Ravda, Bulgaria

The village of Ravda is actively being built up by hotels and private cottages. While food prices are still affordable for now, they are otherwise gradually catching up to the prices in Nessebar. You will not be able to see something interesting in Ravda, except for an amusement park and a water park and the city hall with an original fountain in front of it.

The beaches in Ravda are clean. There are both paid and free zones. On peak seasons the South Beach experiences too many tourists, but that still does not hinder vacationers from going there.

The only thing that catches your eye when you come to Ravda are interesting buildings. All hotels of the village have their own personality, each of which manifests itself even in the color of walls.

The photos of the town of Nessebar, Bulgaria

Nessebar – is the spirit of antiquity. You can catch the romance from the streets and parks, enjoy a variety of interesting attractions that will make for an eventful and memorable stay. Despite quality of living is pretty high in Nessebar, the town still attracts throngs of tourists from other parts of Bulgaria and from other countries.

In Nessebar there is everything for comfortable stay. It boasts clean beaches, a huge amount of restaurants, shops and souvenir shops. If you like nightlife, you can find nightclubs and many places which are open until late night or early morning.

Sunny Beach is a mix of expensive hotels and a huge number of night spots. A large number of tourists come from abroad, so the prices are focused exclusively on them.

A well-developed seaside resort, Sunny Beach boasts clean beaches and clean water. Little wonder, the resort has received the coveted award, the Blue Flag. But if you are looking for a place where you can lie down and sunbathe peacefully, Sunny Beach is not the place to be, because it is usually too crowded at peak seasons.

The photos of Varna, Bulgaria

The ancient city of Varna is full of secrets. During its existence, it was under the vigilant control of several cultures, which could not fail to leave their mark on its buildings. As far as prices are concerned, you could say Varna is at the middle of it — not too cheap nor not too expensive either. There are many restaurants, shops and even large shopping malls.

The city boasts a number attractions such as the Dolphinarium, Asparuhov bridge, the cathedral of the Holy Virgin and a seaside park. Varna has its own airport and a bus station. The beaches are clean and are equipped with basic amenities.

The photos of Golden Sands

Golden Sands is another major seaside resort in Bulgaria, on the Black Sea coast, 18 kilometers north on the municipality of Varna. It is adjacent to a national park of the same name.

There’s an old legend behind the name “Golden Sands”: pirates dug a great stolen golden treasure from a land on the seaside coast. Then, the land took revenge on the pirates and turned the golden treasure into wonderful golden sand.

If you get to look at the beach from the sky, it was an enchanting array of contrasts – the deep blue sea, the golden beaches and the green lush forests not far away from the coast. Aside from the beaches, the Golden Sands is also teeming with ancient natural mineral springs. It draws a lot of tourists not just from other parts of Bulgaria, but also parts of Europe as well.
