Heck! You don’t have to worry yourself, I have taken the time to compile a list of all essential clothing labels you will need for your clothing business. We’ll dive into what each label represents and the specific information each contains in the ensuing paragraph;

  • Brand labels containing the brand name or brand logo is the most commonly known type of label. Otherwise known as main label, brand label plays a big role in any purchase decision, it communicates a message on the quality of the product, durability to the customers. Brands like Polo, American Eagle, Zara makes customers feel good and assures them that they’d derive satisfaction using products from such brands.

The other types of clothing labels beside Brand label are known as sub labels, this category includes the following types of labels:

  • Price Label,
  • Composition Label,
  • Special Label,
  • Care Label,
  • Size Label,
  • Flag Label.

Now, let’s check what specific information each of the aforementioned label contains:

  • Price label: The price label indicates the price of the clothing apparel. Research shows that when people see the price of a product, they are more likely to buy the product there and then, instead of shopping around.
  • Composition label: The composition label shows the type of fabric and their complementing composition percentages in any garment. What this means is that it indicates types of fabric like Cotton slub-denim, Cotton Regular denim, etc. and composition percentage as in 95% Cotton 5% Spandex, 100% Cotton, etc.
  • Special Label: The special label is usually attached to clothes to call the customers to the USP (Unique selling composition) of the garment. Special labels are 100% silk, 100% Cotton, and 100% Leather.
  • Care label: This perhaps the most common type of label after Brand label, it shows information on how the customers can best care for and use the garment. It contains different types of care instructions about the garments such as Washing, Bleaching, Drying, Laundering, and Ironing. The garment would last longer if the directions on the care label are adhered to by the customer.
  • Size label: Like the name indicates, this label contains information on the size of the clothing. Such as S for Small, M for Medium and L for Large size garments. Would you be willing to buy a packaged garment whose size is unknown?
  • Flag Labels: these labels are a designer feature and they are attached in the seams on the outer side of the garment.

Other types of labels are manufacturer labels which are used by international buyers to track the manufacturer of the product.
