Hospitals In Hua Hin

views

Many people think that as a developing country Thailand might not have the best hospitals, but the opposite is in fact true. Thailand has some world-class hospitals, and Hua Hin also has a few good hospitals to choose from. If you’re an expat living in Hua Hin or just a tourist visiting for a few days or weeks, it’s good to know what services are available, just in case you need them in an emergency. You might also want to use them to get non-emergency treatment that costs more in your home country. Here’s a list of the three main hospitals along with some other information.

Bangkok Hospital

Bangkok Hospital is the newest hospital in Hua Hin and is part of the Bangkok Hospital group that has locations in most major cities around the country. It’s one of the largest private hospitals in Southeast Asia. You can get emergency treatment here as well as check-ups, dental treatment, scheduled surgery and much more. I read that this is the only hospital in Hua Hin that has MRI machines that are available at short notice.

San Paulo Hospital

San Paulo, which was established in 1997, is another private hospital. This hospital has a good reputation and deals with both locals and tourists. They can coordinate with local and overseas insurance companies, so it’s a good place to head to if you need treatment that’s covered by your travel insurance.

Pharmacies

For minor ailments visiting a local pharmacy may be your best option, as the pharmacists in Thailand can offer great advice and sell medicines and drugs at cheaper prices than we’ve found at hospitals here. You’ll see pharmacies all over the city. There is a big one at the main night market on Soi 76. The staff speak English at most pharmacies, so you shouldn’t have a problem explaining your symptoms.

Animal Hospitals

Let’s not forget about our pets, as they can also get ill and need medical treatment. There are quite a few animal hospitals around Hua Hin, but the one below is the only one we’ve seen.

Hua Hin Pet Village Animal Hospital

Hua Hin Pet Village Animal Hospital is located in the south of the city not far from Bluport shopping mall. We’ve walked passed this place many times. We’ve heard from locals that it’s a good place to get medical care for your pets.
