Asia Cha Am Hotel

views

As we didn’t at all like the location of the Beach Cha Am Guesthouse we decided to change to a different hotel for our second night in Cha Am. As we’d had a chance to look around the town we had a much better idea of where we wanted to stay. This time we found a really awesome hotel at an unbelievably low price. We chose to at the 3-star Asia Cha Am Hotel, although we thought it must be very close to being a 4-star hotel.

We loved every aspect of this hotel. It was just 100 meters from the beach, had large and clean rooms, a pool and fitness center on the 17th floor, a great restaurant, and awesome views from our room.

Our Room

We booked a superior room that cost us just 990 baht ($31.50) on Agoda. When we arrived at the hotel the walk-in rate showed as 3,500 baht ($111), so we felt like we got a bargain. In the past, we’ve paid more for much lower quality hotels

The room was 301 sq ft (28 sqm) and had a floor to ceiling window facing the sea. There was a very large double bed that was extremely comfortable. The curtains were very thick so the room was almost totally dark at night, giving as a great night’s sleep

The bathroom had a full sized tub as well as a shower. It’s quite rare to have a bath in hotels in Thailand. The bathroom was fairly large with plenty of counter space to keep our toiletries.

There was tea and coffee provided in the room along with a kettle and cups. We had two free bottles of water which were kept in the small fridge.

The room also had a safety deposit box, which is always handy to have.

Our room was on the 5th floor and above you can see the view that we had from our balcony. It looked a little better in real life than it does in the photo.

Parking

As we had our car with this, finding a hotel with adequate parking was essential. You can see the car park in front of the hotel in the photo above.

Swimming Pool & Fitness Center

There was a swimming pool and fitness center on the 17th floor, from where the views were fantastic – see images above. The pool was fairly small but was still nice to have. I couldn’t take any pool photos as there were too many guests sitting around it and I didn’t want to disturb them. You can, however, see the views in the photos above. The fitness center was very good quality.

There is a small forest behind the hotel which you can see in the above image. I’m not sure if it’s accessible to the public or not, but there was some kind of entrance to it, so quite possibly you can go inside.

We liked this hotel so much that we almost stayed for another night, but two days was long enough for us in Cha Am. We much prefer Hua Hin, which is a bigger town further down the coast. That is where we are headed to next.
