The Grand Palace

Palaces are always stunning and the case of The Grand Palace is not different. In this opulent landmark, located in the heart of the city, you can do several things.

Not only can you enjoy a stroll through its spectacular gardens, but also you can discover the meaning that Thai monarchy has to the people in the country or see ancient relics and pieces of art inside this fantastic building. What is more, you can learn even more about this place by taking a free guided tour, availables for tourists.

Can you imagine living there? Nowadays, the king of the country does not live there anymore but the palace stills holds royal ceremonies and state functions.

And, last but not least… Visiting the Grand Palace requires appropriate dress, so make sure that your legs are completely covered or you won’t be allowed to enter the place.

Wat Pho

This place is known as the ‘Temple of The Reclining Buddha’. The reason behind this name is the impressive and gigantic statue of a golden Buddha that stretches the length of the temple. In fact, this Buddha is approximately 15 feet tall and 150 feet long.

Visiting this monument has a cost of about 100 baht, which is totally worth it. Besides, you can join guided tours to know every little detail about this magical place, where you can also visit any of the four chapels that contain almost 400 gilded Buddhas. Or, what is better, getting a massage in the backyard of the temple, which is absolutely splendid.

One last thing to know is that this place is very near to the Grand Palace, so you can visit both places on the same day.

Pratunam

Pratunam is not one of the premier attractions in Bangkok but if you are one of those people that loves to go off the beaten track, you cannot leave the city without visiting this neighborhood.

If you are a shopaholic, this is also your place because Pratunam is full of colorful shops where you can find the best deals and bargains.

Patrunam is not only about shops. There you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the Bangkok skyline from the Baiyoke Tower as well which is, without a shadow of doubt, a must have choice.

Of course, there are more and more places in this beautiful city to get lost and to learn about, such as Chinatown, Silom or the Riverside and visiting them is easier than ever!
